Scenario # 82 The attacker attempts to grab your leg with an intention of taking you down. Self defense technique # 82 Step your left foot back, to move away from the attacker’s grab, while using both of your fists to hammer blow the attacker’s shoulder-blades.
Still standing in the same stance, both hands strike both sections of the nunchaku up to create 2 circles (2 times) at waist level. Before starting self-defense technique number 1, I have a few important tips to share with you:
The position of attack means the target on your body in which the attacker aims for. For example, while you are standing still, the attacker delivers a straight punch toward your stomach. In this case, the position of attack is your stomach. The distance the front foot, either the left foot or the right foot, steps forward equals to the distance the back foot follows but be sure to keep the same stance. Please look at Figure 3. Step forward is recommended when you are trying to block the attacker’s attack or when you are trying to counterattack. Step forward is use because the distance between you and the attacker is close or somewhat close to each other.
